Job Description: Facilities Maintenance Technician I
Salary: $13.00-$15.00 per hour Non-exempt
Minimum Qualifications:
Versatile and experienced Maintenance Technician with at least 3 (three) years’ experience performing a variety of Maintenance duties under direct supervision. High School Diploma or GED. Some college or trade school preferred. Willingness to obtain a Journeyman skill level in at least one of the following trades, and high level of proficiency in all listed trades within 3 years of hire: HVAC, Plumbing, Residential and Light Industrial Electrician, Carpentry, Roofing and roof repair. Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair a variety of facilities related issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
All Minimum qualifications plus 1-year experience as Facilities Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, Apartment/Hotel Maintenance Technician, or any combination of the above.
Primary Duties:
- Performs a variety of building repairs such as ceiling and floor tile, doors, locks, windows, roofs, and hangar components.
- Will respond to work orders, assess, and repair all facilities of the Columbus Airport Terminal, Tenant Buildings, and Hangars.
- Performs a variety of electrical repairs such as replacing or repairing broken switches, fixtures, outlets, bulbs, ballasts, relays, and power breakers.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs a variety of plumbing fixtures including faucets, sinks, toilets, urinals, valves, water supply lines, and drains.
- Inspects, maintains, and assists in repairing, servicing, and installing heating, air conditioning, and other mechanical equipment including pumps and motors. Performs preventative and scheduled maintenance of HVAC and boiler equipment, including lubrication, belt and filter changes, and coil cleaning.
- Paints a variety of indoor and outdoor surfaces, fixtures, and furniture; prepares surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding and scraping. Uses a variety of equipment including brushes, rollers, electric and pneumatic sprayers.
- Repairs and installs drywall, paneling, wall covering. Tapes, spackles, sands, and prepares drywall surfaces for painting.
- Builds and assembles a variety of furniture, desks, shelves, and office furniture.
Additional Duties:
- May act as an escort supervising and/or escorting contractors, vendors, or temporary community service volunteers under the direct or indirect supervision of the Airport Maintenance Supervisor or Airport Maintenance Manager.
- May be called upon to assist other team members within the maintenance department or assist other Airport employees during critical staffing or emergencies.
- Will be included in the on-call schedule for essential personnel.
- Attend quarterly GA Meetings
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One year of related experience or any combination of education, training and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Will be required to work on roofs, catwalks, and genie lift buckets to perform repairs.
- Must have no issues working with heights.

JOB SUMMARY
The Hospitality Team Member position will be responsible for the cleanliness of the Columbus Airport’s facilities by maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of airport terminal and common areas including stairways, supply rooms, housekeeping office, administration offices, furnishings, and rest rooms as well as building entrances, parking lots and exterior walkways. The Hospitality schedule is full time, including weekends and holidays.
Hospitality Team Members work under a firm schedule determined by the commercial airline flight schedule (subject to change) and will be assigned duties by the Hospitality Supervisor. Hospitality Team Members are required to work as part of a team or with no direction for early morning and late evening schedules.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- • Daily sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in terminal to include gate, Admin, FAA, etc.
- • Clean restrooms and lavatories including sinks, toilets, urinals, and showers.
- • Launder and store cleaning towels and cloths.
- • Dust and clean furniture, desks and office furniture.
- • Clean escalator rails, sweep elevators and wipe down buttons.
- • Clean and wash windows, mirrors, and other glass.
- • Re-stock hand sanitizer, soap, paper products and sanitary products in restrooms.
- • Empty and clean garbage containers in the terminal and pay parking lots.
- • Sweep and/or remove litter and debris from sidewalks, public areas and parking lots.
- • Disinfect water fountains, sinks, and all stainless steel.
- • Will work with chemicals, solvents, corrosives, and abrasives.
- • Will be exposed to dust, dirt, and fumes.
- • Will be occasionally exposed to severe or inclement weather.
- • Clean and stock indoor and outdoor pet relief areas.
- • Clean administration breakroom to include, refrigerator, microwave, counters, floors, etc.
MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED. Certification in one or more trades. At least one year of related experience in performance of industrial, institutional, or hotel housekeeping duties.

JOB SUMMARY
The Beverage Cart Attendant position will be responsible for providing prepackaged food and beverages to passengers, vendors, tenants and employees during their visit to the terminal/airport. Provides customers with professional, prompt and friendly service throughout their visit providing a positive first impression of their hometown airport. Attendants are required to clock in on time during scheduled shift, be in clean, neat uniform, and wear visible badge at all times. Hair past collar length must be restrained and no gum chewing. Responsible for assisting with vending machine inventory by ensuring that the supply is sufficient and reporting deficiencies to the Hospitality Supervisor.
The attendant will be responsible for the cleanliness of Columbus Airport’s Propeller’s Sky Bar cart and concessions area by maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of common areas including collecting trash, wiping down tables and chairs, sweeping and mopping. The hospitality schedule is part time, including some weekends and holidays.

- Perform daily opening and/or closing inventory. Inventory sheets must be dated, signed and turned in with closing paperwork.
- Must check with Hospitality Supervisor before leaving the property.
- Maintain an inventory sheet that reflects daily sales.
- Check expiration dates on food and beverage products in beverage cart storeroom.
- Rotate and organize products and inform Supervisor to order new product when necessary.
- Confirm cart is fully operational and functioning properly before starting service.
- Keep beverage cart, tables, chairs and common areas clean at all times.
- Serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with Georgia Law.
- Keep beer coolers and snack clips clean, organized and full.
- Must be available to work on major holidays.
- Must attend hospitality meetings and any training classes
- Follow all Safety guidelines.
- Set up and/or breakdown beverage cart if opening or closing.
MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED. Certification in one or more trades. At least one year of related experience in performance in concessions. Must be eligible to receive an ABC card to serve alcohol. Must be over 21.

Job Duties
- Shall assist in the supervision of Public Safety Officers in their tasks of their tasks in responding to fires and medical emergencies, protecting life and property, maintaining vehicles, operating various communications systems, office dispatching and reception, and preparing and drafting reports.
- Must ensure all personnel in his command conduct themselves in a professional manner and that the officers work in such a way as to ensure a high degree of lateral cooperation and exchange of information.
- Assist with the investigating of incidents/crimes, responding to various emergencies, enforcing traffic laws, preparing complete and accurate reports, preparing cases for prosecution, appearing as a court witness, maintaining contact with citizens regarding police problems and preserving good relationships with the general public, and any other duties that may be required.
- Evaluate the performance of personnel in their command to find potential problems and work to correct any situation of inadequacy.
- Assist in inspecting personnel and equipment under his control and correct situations of inadequacy as needed.
- Shall regularly confer with the Chief of Police on operational activities, problems, and needs of his command, keep the Chief of Police aware of any situations that affect the welfare of the department, and shall apprise the Chief of Police of Deputy Chief incidents and keep the Chief abreast of information regarding those incidents
- Designated as the second in command as acting Chief of Public Safety in the absence of the Public Safety Chief.
- Supervise Public Safety Officers in the execution of duties associated with daily airport operations as provided for by Federal regulation.
- Assuring that all required county, state, and federal records, and reports are compiled and submitted.
- Preparing, submitting, and managing the budgets for the Public Safety Department.
- Preparing and maintaining Airport Certification Manual and Airport Emergency Plan.
- Ensure Public Safety Officers are compliant with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations through the approved Airport Security Program.
- Representing Columbus Airport Public Safety Department to all outside fire and law enforcement agencies.
- Preparing written and oral reports for and attending the board meetings of the Columbus Airport Commission and such other meetings as the Commission or Director specifies from time to time in the absence of Chief.
- Perform other duties as dictated by the Chief of Police or as needed.
Skill Qualifications
Citizen of the United States, who shall have graduated from a POST approved Basic Academy and possession of a POST Advanced Certificate, and/or have achieved status as a State of Georgia Certified Airport Firefighter. Successful candidate will have one year from date of hire to obtain both POST and Airport Firefighter qualifications described above as a condition of continued employment. Possess a college degree in fire or police administration, or related field is desired. At the discretion of the Commission, a combination of training, background and experience may be substituted for educational requirements. Shall have a minimum three (3) years’ experience in an increasingly responsible police or fire agency management position.
Public Safety Firefighter Officer

Job Duties
Following are a list of duties to be performed by a Public Safety Officer (this list is not considered all-inclusive, and a Public Safety Officer may be required to perform duties as assigned by the Chief of Public Safety and/or his/her designee):
- Performance of general firefighting duties including Aircraft Rescue Firefighting.
- Responds to airport emergency alarms, including fires, aircraft emergencies, vehicle accidents, medical aid calls, and Hazmat incidents.
- Operating airport emergency equipment vehicles during responses to aircraft rescue/firefighting emergencies; performs rescue/firefighting tasks at aircraft emergencies and mishaps; operates specialized equipment for rescue operations.
- Renders aid and basic life support services.
- Performs assigned training ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Assists in performing airport fire inspection; enforces fire and life safety codes; completes fire inspection documentation; reports violations to supervisor.

- Performs salvage, overhaul, and scene preservation duties at aircraft and structural emergencies.
- Enforces traffic laws on airport property; performs security patrols.
- Performs airfield and fuel facility safety inspections, reports, and documents discrepancies.

- Inspects, cleans, and performs operator level maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Prepares a variety of reports, logs, inspection results, and related documents; posts and/or forwards to supervisor.
