Columbus Airport Legal Counsel, William Donald “Don” Morgan Jr. is a Columbus native with more than 25 years of experience in private law practice. Morgan is a 1973 business school graduate of Auburn University and a 1976 graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law.
Morgan spent much of his early career planning and administering estates and trusts in the Trust Division of First National Bank of Birmingham (now AmSouth) and Columbus Bank and Trust (now Synovus Trust Company). In 1988 Morgan joined the firm of Layfield and Rothschild (later Rothschild and Morgan, P.C.) where he spent 20 years before opening Don Morgan, P.C.
Morgan supports many local organizations such as Uptown Columbus, Inc. and the Columbus Business Improvement District (BID), where he has served as general counsel since its inception. He also lends his legal expertise as a volunteer to Feeding the Valley, Inc., the local member food bank of the Feeding America food bank network. Morgan is past president of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Columbus and Life Member of the Auburn Alumni Association.
Morgan is a member of the State Bar of Georgia (1976), the Alabama State Bar (1978), the bars of the United States District Courts for Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia and Middle District of Alabama, the Unites States Tax Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is a member of the American Association of Airport Executives.
